The Healthcare Conspiracy
Some people see conspiracies everywhere. I’m not one of those people.
Others think that a pharmaceutical company has discovered the cure for cancer but is suppressing it to make more money from chemotherapy. I’m not one of those people either.
A few individuals think that, in general, healthcare providers are misguided in their enthusiasm for testing and treatment — that they’re like people with hammers to whom all problems look like nails. Hey, that’s me!
So relax, there is no conspiracy to keep “the cure” from you. It’s just that there is a lot of money behind healthcare.
I’m talking big money! And it’s easy for all of us to believe that what makes us money is a good thing. Not to mention that our public and private decision making is heavily influenced by money.
Let’s face it, advertising and lobbying work.
Just take a minute to compare the volume of advertisements that you see pushing testing and treatment from your local healthcare providers to the volume of ads suggesting that you eat more vegetables.
You get the idea. I’m sure your Congressman and Senators aren’t spending much time with the organic food lobbyist either. Not so much money in that as in big Pharma.
Really, no one is hiding the truth about health. Truth is, health does not come from healthcare, but it’s awfully hard to hear this truth over the current bedlam about healthcare.
Our “healthcare conspiracy” isn’t helping here. Yes there is a conspiracy! A conspiracy by the big money providers to sell you the idea that more healthcare is better. But you can find the truth. You can be well.
You can have more health and less care, but you’re going to have to start thinking for yourself.
