Be The Somebody That Does Something

“Somebody needs to do something.”

Have you ever heard that before? I’ve heard it a lot.  In fact, I’ve even said it:  “Somebody really needs to do something about this health care crisis we’re having. Somebody really needs to do something about the obesity epidemic in America.

Somebody really needs to help change America’s culture and we need to change our environment. And somebody needs to help us get healthy food.”

Well that kind of talk doesn’t really help that much. Eventually I decided, “Hey, I’m somebody!  Maybe I should try to do all of that.” It’s a pretty tall order, but what I did do was write a book, “More Health, Less Care.”

I became a wellness evangelist and I’m trying to build America’s wellness system with the More Health Less Care Alliance.  I’m trying to do something to help Americans help themselves to wellness.

But what’s going on in your life? Do you sit around thinking, “Somebody needs to make organic food cheaper. Somebody needs to fix the insurance system so that I have access wellness benefits. Somebody needs to do this or somebody needs to do that before I can be well.”

You might be waiting a long time because those “somebodys” aren’t necessarily going to do that.

You’re somebody and you can control your life.  Yes it is hard to get well in America today. But it’s not as hard as some people seem to think it is. It just requires that you want to do it and that you start working toward it.

People will come alongside to help you. I’m one of them.  The people in the More Health Less Care Alliance are some of them and your friends and neighbors may be some of them as well.

So the important thing is to stop waiting for “somebody to do something” for you to get well. You’re somebody. Just go for it.

You can do it.
