Taxi To Wellness
A couple of weeks ago, I made a video titled “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover” in which I talked about the fact that people that might be able to help you to wellness may not have a lot of initials behind their name.
They might not have degrees. They might not have formal training. They might not have credentials, or at least not traditional credentials, but they might be able to be people that would still be quite an aid to you and really be able to help you in your wellness journey.
I have a story about that today illustrating that. A couple of weeks ago I went to Dallas for a conference. I got into a taxicab out of DFW and started speaking to the cab driver.
He asked me what line of work I was in, and I told him “I’m a wellness evangelist” and that I was trying to help people to physical, emotional and spiritual health. He told me, “I’m doing the same thing.” And I said, “You are? Tell me about that.”
Then he told me how he had been a very angry person, always had a chip on his shoulder ready to fly into a rage, very reactive, never happy. Naturally it caused a lot of problems in his life and gradually he realized he had to be different.
He didn’t know what to do. He decided to study and learn and that he would figure out how he was going to be a more calm and emotionally centered person. And he did! I’m not going to tell you his story here, he told it to me, but then he told me that he made a DVD and he gave me a copy.
This is his DVD. His name is Kamal Ahuja, and his DVD is entitled “I Refuse to be Unhappy! How About You?” So I gave him a copy of my book, he gave me a copy of the DVD and I’ve watched it. I like what he has to say. He’s a smart man. He’s got wisdom. Can he teach you something? Maybe.
I don’t know if you’re an angry person and you might be interested in what he has to say. I’ll put his email address at the end of this video and if you want to get a copy of his DVD go ahead and email him.
But I like what he has to say. I think he can help people. I think it will help people. And it just goes to show you that, emotional wellness, spiritual wellness, physical wellness don’t have to come from psychologists, ministers and doctors.
They can come from the people around you, people that have learned things, people that have wisdom to pass on to you. And Kamal Ahuja is one.
So I want to thank you, Kamal, for your DVD, and I want to thank you for the work that you’re doing to help people be emotionally and spiritually and physically well, and I wish you all the success in the world.
